AI citation trackingbeside any site.

AI answers cite a handful of sites and leave out the rest. Overfront tracks AI citations and mentions for any public website: how often sampled, web-grounded answers cite it, which competitors they cite instead, and which sources they lean on. Open it beside your site or a rival's and compare where you stand. Free in Chrome, with nothing to install on your site.

Does AI mention you?

More people now begin research by asking an AI assistant, and each answer names a handful of sites and leaves out the rest. Overfront samples web-grounded AI answers to the discovery questions asked in your category and counts how often your site is cited or mentioned. It is a measured estimate, not an official ranking, so you know where you stand before changing anything.

Overfront on ahrefs.com: AI and Brand scores with competing domains and their citation rates.

Beside every page.

Open the side panel on any public website and its AI score and Brand score appear next to the page, along with the domains cited in the same answers. The capture shown is a real, dated measurement of ahrefs.com. When a site has no result yet, you can request one from the panel, and it returns within about a minute.

Your AI visibility, estimated.

The AI score reflects how often a domain is cited in sampled answers to discovery questions about its category. Questions that name the brand directly are scored on their own as the Brand score, so a familiar name does not lift the main result. Every score shows an estimated range and the date it was measured, because AI answers shift from one run to the next.

Who else gets cited.

For the same questions, Overfront lists the other domains the answers cite, ranked by citation rate, with the current leader marked. Seeing which competitors, review sites, and publishers appear in your place turns one number into context: who you are really up against in AI answers, and how wide the gap is.

The evidence behind it.

Each score traces back to what was measured. The Questions tab shows the discovery questions that were asked, and the Sources tab lists the domains the answers drew on, with how often each was cited. You can check the reasoning yourself rather than trusting a single number, and decide which pages or sources deserve your attention first.

Works where you browse.

There is no tag or script to add to your website. Visit your homepage, a competitor, or a brand you just came across, then open Overfront from the toolbar to see its AI visibility. An optional on-page badge keeps the score in view as you move between sites, and it runs only on the site access you choose to grant.

Only the domain.

When you look up a site, the extension sends its registrable domain, such as example.com, and an anonymous ID. Page content, full URLs, paths, and chat history are not sent. Results are stored by domain rather than by person, so everyone who checks the same site sees the same measurement, and the results do not show who asked.

About Overfront.

Overfront is a Chrome extension for checking how AI answers treat a website. Measurements are sampled and can move between runs, so the way scores are calculated is published on the Method page, and the extension itself is free. If a result looks unclear or surprising, the answers here are a good place to start.

What does Overfront measure?

A website's visibility in sampled AI answers to discovery questions. Questions that explicitly name the brand receive a separate Brand score. The result helps you investigate your presence alongside the questions and sources available in the extension.

Which AI engines are covered?

Current coverage uses OpenAI models through its API to examine web-grounded answers. Results reflect that coverage and can differ from a personal ChatGPT conversation. Our Method page explains how to interpret them.

Do I need to connect my website?

No. Open a public website and Overfront uses its domain to look up results. If there is no result yet, you can request a measurement. You do not need to install anything on your website or write a prompt list.

Is this an official AI search ranking?

No. It is a sampled estimate of visibility, not an official ranking or a guarantee of traffic. AI answers vary. The extension shows the estimated range and the questions behind the result so you can interpret it in context.

What happens to my browsing data?

The extension sends only the registrable domain and an anonymous identifier. It does not transmit page content, full URLs, URL paths, or chat history. The optional on-page badge requires website access, which you control.
